KO'ed by Jet Lag

I had what was probably the worst jet lag of my life last night. I went to bed at 1am after watching Skins, and despite feeling as if I was drifting off to sleep, I was jolted wide awake some moments later. I checked my phone and saw that it was 2AM.

I proceeded to spend the next two hours reading shit on my phone. Then I tried to sleep at 4AM.

Sleep did not come. I tossed and turned, closed my eyes and felt physically close to rest but mentally wide awake. I though I'd fallen asleep at one point, but found myself fully aware of my sleeplessness again at 5.30AM.

Eventually, I got up at 6.30AM, no sleep at all, and had breakfast and went for a swim.

I am now crazy tired. I cannot believe that I didn't sleep the whole night; I think the crappy 7-dollar flat white that I had at Robert Timms at 4pm didn't help matters. But it's so weird that I would have a day when I wake up at 7, then another when I can barely drag myself out of bed at 10.30, and now, a completely sleepless night. It is quite a miracle that I made it to the NUS Law Library to work on reducing the word count of my first year paper to 10,000 to submit it to a conference. I was even there at 10AM. Alas, I had to leave at 3PM because there are some renovation works going on and there was some loud drilling which irritated me.

So the word limit of the paper for the conference is 10,000 without footnotes. My original paper stood at about 13,000 without footnotes. I managed to get it down to 10,700+ by eliminating Nappalli v ITE from the discussion and moving tons of shit into the footnotes.

But oh my god. How am I gonna eliminate 700 words? This is beyond painful.


I am going to bed. So tired.
