I'm too tired to write, and I really want to sleep, so briefly: I enjoyed Venice a lot. 4.5 days were definitely sufficient; any more days and I would be bored. It's a very small island and there isn't really much to do apart from walking around and gawking at its unabashed beauty. Admittedly, I didn't visit the Doge Palace and Basilica because I didn't feel like wasting my time waiting in line; and in all honesty, I'm not very interested in the history of a place. I'm more interested in its modernity, in its now, and so I tend to spend more time exploring different parts of a city, especially less touristy places.
I ended up buying a 72-hour vaporetto pass because I had to take one to get to a restaurant that I found online, and since I had to take one to get to the bus terminal for departure, I decided on the pass. And because I decided on the pass, I ended up visiting Murano and Burano rather spontaneously on Wednesday, after a quick trip to Castello to see the Arsenale (and have a yummy lunch at a vegetarian health place). It was a great decision. Murano is small but beautiful, and I loved the colourful houses on Burano.
I continued to have great food and great wine. Yes to both.
Gah I'm so tired. Hopefully I will write more at some point.
